Returns & Exchange

Return & Exchange Policy

Last Updated: 31 August 2026

Aretha Printing provides customised printing services based on customer-approved specifications, artwork, quantities and production requirements. Because printed products are made specifically for each customer, they are generally not eligible for return or exchange in the same way as standard retail products.

This policy explains how we handle cancellations, printing defects, damaged shipments, replacements and refunds.

1. Custom-Printed Products

Most products supplied by Aretha Printing are customised and produced specifically according to the customer's:

  • Artwork

  • Size

  • Quantity

  • Paper or material

  • Printing specifications

  • Finishing requirements

  • Branding

  • Personalisation

  • Other approved instructions

Accordingly, completed customised printing orders cannot normally be returned or exchanged simply because the customer changes their mind after production.

2. Artwork and Content Approval

Customers are responsible for checking and approving all artwork, text, spelling, contact information, images, dimensions, colours, quantities and other specifications before production.

Where a digital proof, artwork preview or production confirmation is provided, production may begin after customer approval.

Aretha Printing is not responsible for errors already present in customer-supplied or customer-approved artwork, including:

  • Spelling mistakes

  • Incorrect names, numbers or addresses

  • Incorrect images or logos

  • Low-resolution images

  • Incorrect dimensions

  • Incorrect information

  • Layout errors

  • Content errors

  • Incorrect quantities or specifications approved by the customer

If we notice an obvious issue before production, we may bring it to the customer's attention, but responsibility for final approval remains with the customer.

3. Colour Variation

Colours displayed on computer screens, mobile phones and other digital devices may differ from printed colours.

Some variation may also occur because of:

  • Printing process

  • Paper or material used

  • Surface finish

  • Lamination

  • Ink or toner characteristics

  • Different production batches

  • Differences between RGB and CMYK colour reproduction

Reasonable colour variation is therefore not normally considered a printing defect.

Where exact brand colours are important, customers should inform us before production and provide appropriate colour references or specifications.

4. Cutting, Folding and Production Tolerances

Commercial printing processes may involve small acceptable variations in:

  • Cutting

  • Folding

  • Binding

  • Registration

  • Positioning

  • Finished dimensions

  • Colour

  • Quantity

Minor variations within normal commercial printing tolerances are not considered defects.

If a requirement involves unusually strict tolerances, customers should discuss this with us before confirming the order.

5. Defective or Incorrect Printing

If an order contains a significant manufacturing or printing error attributable to Aretha Printing, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible after receiving the goods.

Examples may include:

  • Printing materially different from the approved artwork

  • Incorrect product or specification supplied

  • Major printing defects

  • Significant finishing defects

  • Missing items or substantial quantity discrepancy

  • Production error attributable to Aretha Printing

Please provide:

  • Order or invoice details

  • Description of the issue

  • Clear photographs or video showing the problem

  • Quantity affected

We may request additional information or, where reasonably necessary, return of the affected products before determining the appropriate resolution.

6. Replacement or Reprinting

Where we confirm that a significant defect or error was caused by Aretha Printing, we may, depending on the circumstances:

  • Reprint the affected quantity

  • Replace the affected products

  • Correct the work where reasonably possible

  • Provide an appropriate partial refund

  • Provide a full refund for the affected portion of the order where replacement is not reasonably possible

The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature and extent of the issue.

Where a replacement or reprint is agreed, reasonable production and delivery time will apply.

7. Transit Damage

We take reasonable care in packing printed products for dispatch.

If an order arrives significantly damaged during transit, please contact us promptly and provide:

  • Photographs of the outer packaging

  • Photographs of the damaged products

  • Shipping label details

  • Order or invoice details

Customers should retain the damaged goods and packaging until the matter has been reviewed.

Where the damage is verified, we will determine an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances and the courier or transport provider's claim requirements.

8. Missing or Incorrect Shipment

If you receive an incorrect product or if a shipment is materially incomplete, please contact us promptly.

We will review the order records, production details and dispatch information and arrange an appropriate correction where the error is attributable to Aretha Printing.

9. Cancellation Before Production

Cancellation requests should be made as early as possible.

If production has not yet started, we may accept cancellation and refund amounts paid, after deducting any costs already incurred specifically for the order, where applicable.

Such costs may include:

  • Artwork or design work

  • Proofing

  • Special paper or material purchased specifically for the order

  • Outsourced production or finishing already commissioned

  • Payment processing or other non-recoverable charges

10. Cancellation After Production Has Started

Once printing, production, finishing, procurement of customised material or other order-specific work has begun, the order may not be cancellable.

If cancellation is requested after production has started, any refund will depend on:

  • Work already completed

  • Material already consumed or purchased

  • Third-party costs already incurred

  • Whether any part of the order can reasonably be stopped

Aretha Printing will determine the refundable amount, if any, based on the actual stage of production and costs incurred.

11. Completed Orders

Once a correctly produced customised order has been completed according to the approved specifications, it cannot normally be returned, exchanged or refunded because:

  • The customer no longer requires it

  • The customer ordered the wrong quantity

  • The customer provided incorrect artwork or information

  • The customer approved an incorrect design

  • The customer changes their preference after printing

  • The printed colour differs slightly from a screen display

  • The customer expected a different paper feel, colour or finish despite the agreed specification

Customers are encouraged to request clarification, samples or additional information before confirming large or specification-sensitive orders.

12. Design and Artwork Services

Where separate design, typesetting, artwork correction or file-preparation work has been completed, charges for such services may be non-refundable even if the customer later decides not to proceed with printing.

13. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved, it will normally be processed using an appropriate payment method.

The time required for the amount to appear in the customer's account may depend on the bank, payment provider or original payment method.

Any approved refund will apply only to the amount determined to be refundable under this policy.

14. Reporting a Problem

Customers should report printing defects, missing items or transit damage promptly after delivery so that the issue can be properly investigated.

15. Fair Resolution

Our objective is to resolve genuine production, printing and delivery problems fairly and reasonably.

Because printing orders vary substantially in product type, quantity, production method and customisation, the appropriate remedy may differ from case to case.

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights or remedies that may apply under applicable law.
